ANIMALS

Time flies, that´s for sure. And now we are going to learn about animals.

 HABITATS

THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF  ANIMALS.

MAMMALS:

There are mammal which live on land, and others which live in water. They give birth and feed
their young with milk. They have lungs and need air to breath.
They are warm-blooded.

AMPHIBIANS.

Live on land and in water. They have  webbed feet. They breath with lungs and gills. They cold-blooded. Their skin is moist smooth. They usually have 4 legs, sometimes none. They are born from eggs.

FISH

Live in water. They breath under water using gills, not lungs. They don´t have hair or fur, they have scales and fins. They are cold-blooded and are born from eggs.

REPTILES

They live on land  and in water. They are born from eggs. Reptiles breathe air. Their body is covered in scales or  a shell. They are cold-blooded.
Crocodiles, alligators, turtles, snakes, lizards are reptiles.

HEALTHY HABITS

Food
This web  has very interesting games to learn how to eat in a healthy way.

GAME

I HAVE FIVE SENSES

THE FOOD WE EAT

We are now studying about food. Where does food come from? What are the different types of food? What´s fresh food and processed food? What´s the eatwell plate?

 FOOD VOCABULARY

Types of food

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Fruits  come from plants.

VEGETABLES AND LEGUMES

Vegetables and legumes come from plants.

MEAT, FISH AND DAIRY PROCUCTS

Meat, fish and dairy products come from animals.

BREAD AND CEREALS

Bread and cereals come from plants.

THE EATWELL PLATE

It´s used in UK to represent the five types of food and how much we sholud eat from each to keep a healthy diet.

In Spain we use a pyramide

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

We are studying the houses... And this is one of the nicest stories about houses and building them.

THE HOUSE

We are studying the house, its parts, what we do in each of them, what houses are made of and different sort of houses. That´s a lot. We´ll do it little by little. Now listen and sing.
And it´s kitchen , no chicken!

Butterfly life cycle.

After our Xmas break we have taken back science. The weather, the seasons, the calendar... Many things happen in nature, most of them amazing.

WEATHER AND TIME

It´s almost winter and just before Christmas we are going to be learning about the weather, the seasons, the months of the year...
Here you are to practice at home.

ANIMALS AND PLANTS

Wild and domestic animals.

Animals and plants are very important for people. People get lots of things from them. This is our science table. Last week it ended up like this.

From plants we get food: vegetables, fruit, juices, drinks... Wealso get wood, paper, medicines, clothes...

From animals we get food, wool to make clothes, but we also get company.
After learning lots of things we have played games to practice.

LIVING AND NON-LIVING THINGS

In science we are studying the difference between living and
non-living things.
Living things are plants, animals and people.

They need air, food and water to live.

Living things are born, they grow, they reproduce and they die.

This is the circle of life of a plant.

1- You plant the seeds.
2- The plant gets water, sunlight and air.
3- Roots appear.
4- Plant grows. It gets leaves and flowers.
5- Plants die.

Non-living thins can be  natural.

Or man-made
